Next Meeting–8th of April

Thank you, dear students, for the well attended book club meeting yesterday. Each of you presented pertinent observations of this Steinbeck classic (Cannery Row) sincerely. Your earnestness provoked each of us to ponder over the immeasurable literary value of the novel. Cannery Row though slim in volume is condensed in theme and contains a cornucopia of meaning.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Carolyn Terrill has been selected president of the club for this semester. Mrs. Terrill, a student at Calhoun, has been devoted to the book club for two years now. She can always be reached via First Class.
Next month, on the 8th of April, we meet at the same place (101 E) at 1:30 pm. It is the second Tuesday. Please come join us after reading The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery.
Also, try to compile a short list of five of the best books you have read recently.

March 11th Meeting

Thanks to all the participants of the book club for their contribution to the first meeting on the 25th of February. We had an interesting session with discussion and slideshow of online pictures of the PCT about the book Wild by Cheryl Strayed.
On the 11th of March, we meet to discuss another illuminating and descriptive work : Cannery Rowby Steinbeck. Please join us for an hour’s discourse with instructors and students. All are welcome!
